What is solar system? Solar system is made up of our star - the Sun, eight planets and countless smaller bodies. The eight planets are: Mercury Venus Earth Mars Jupiter Saturn Uranus Neptune Mercury Mercury is the first planet from the sun.    One day on Mercury is 59 earth days.   Mercury has no satellite. Venus One day on Venus is 243 Earth days. Venus makes a complete orbit around the sun in 225 Earth days. Venus has long days and short years.       Earth Earth has short days and long years. One day on earth is 24 hours. Earth has its on satellite called Moon.           Mars One day on mars is 24 hours 40 minutes. Mars has two moons- Phobos and Deimos. Mars has shorter days and longer years.         Jupiter One day on Jupiter is 10 hours. Jupiter has more than 75 moons Jupiter completes one orbit around the Sun in 4333 Earth days.
