What is solar system?

Solar system is made up of our star - the Sun, eight planets and countless smaller bodies. The eight planets are:

  • Mercury
  • Venus
  • Earth
  • Mars
  • Jupiter
  • Saturn
  • Uranus
  • Neptune

Mercury

  • Mercury is the first planet from the sun. 
  •  One day on Mercury is 59 earth days.
  •  Mercury has no satellite.

Venus

  • One day on Venus is 243 Earth days.
  • Venus makes a complete orbit around the sun in 225 Earth days.
  • Venus has long days and short years. 
   

Earth

  • Earth has short days and long years.
  • One day on earth is 24 hours.
  • Earth has its on satellite called Moon.

        

Mars

  • One day on mars is 24 hours 40 minutes.
  • Mars has two moons- Phobos and Deimos.
  • Mars has shorter days and longer years.

       

Jupiter

  • One day on Jupiter is 10 hours.
  • Jupiter has more than 75 moons
  • Jupiter completes one orbit around the Sun in 4333 Earth days.

Saturn

  • Saturn has shorter days and long years.
  • Saturn has 7 glorious rings.
  • Saturn has 7 glorious rings.

Uranus

  • Uranus has shorter days and longer years.
  • Uranus has 13 known rings.
  • Uranus has 27 known moons.

    

Neptune

  • One day on Neptune is 16 hours.
  • Neptune completes one orbit around the Sun in 165 Earth years.
  • Neptune is the last planet from the Sun.
