The Last Kids on Earth

Max Brallier

Illustrated by Douglas Holgate

The Last Kids on Earth is a wonderful book all about four kids who get stuck in a monster apocalypse.
A boy named Jack Sulivan was all alone as his foster parents left on day 1. Jack contacted his best friend, Quint Baker and they lived together in Jack's foster brother's treehouse. Later they met Dirk Savage, a bull in their school. Quint and Jack started to become friends with Dirk. Dirk was living with them in their treehouse and they were now looking for June del Toro, Jack's school crush. Once they found her they defeat a huge monster called Blarg and thats the end of the story for now.

Time Traveling With a Hamster

Ross Welford

On his 12th birthday, a boy named Al Chaudhury receives two gifts, a pet hamster named Alan Shearer and a letter from his dad who died 4 years ago. In the letter his dad tells him to go back in time and prevent his dad's death by stopping a go kart injury which happened to his father when he was 12. In the process he kills his father in the past then brings him back to life. While all of this chaos is happening he has to keep Alan Shearer alive.

Pie in the Sky

Remy Lai

When Jingwen moves to a new country he feels like he's landed on Mars. School is torture, making friends is impossible since he doesn't speak English, and he's often stuck looking after his (extremely annoying) little brother, Yanghao. To distract himself from the loneliness, Jingwen daydreams about making all the cakes on the menu of Pie in the Sky, the bakery his father had planned to open before he unexpectedly passed away. The only problem is that his mother has set down a major rule: The brothers are not to use the oven while she's at work. As Jingwen and Yanghao bake elaborate cakes, they have to serve elaborate excuses to Mama in order to keep the cake making a secret.
