Books I read in November & December 2023

In the last 2 months I had a lot of free time and I used that free time to read books. As I read I saw and understood how different books make you feel different emotions. It showed me that emotion always has a play, whether it is in a book or real life. Here are few of the books I read that helped me understand that emotion is always present.

Randi Rhodes - Ninja Detective : The Case of the Time-Capsule Bandit

Octavia Spencer

This book is about a girl named Randi Rhodes who moved from Brooklyn to a town called Deer Creek in Tennessee. In Brooklyn, Randi took up the role of a secret detective known as Glen Street. After moving to Deer Creek she thinks there is no need for Glen Street as Deer Creek is very normal and boring in her eyes. Little does she know that she and her newly found friends are going to solve a brand new mystery! This book shows that there is always light at the end of a dark tunnel as Randi lost her mother but she made new friends and solved a new crime.

Look Out for the Fitzgerald-Trouts

Esta Spalding

Have you ever wondered what its like to live in a car with all of your brother and sisters? That's the life of the Fitzgerald-Trouts. Since they live in a car and their many mothers and fathers left them abandoned them, the number one thing on their list is to find a home. I think this story shows how you can happily live with you family even if you are in a sorrow position.

No Place Like Home

James Bird

No Place Like Home is a book revolving around a homeless, Native American girl. She, her mother and her brother live in a car. They steal leftovers from restaurants for food. The girl's name is Opin. Her brother's name is Emjay who is never at the car and instead is picking fights with people. Emjay is not happy with the way they are living. His and Opin's mom tries to make life a game but in the end, it doesn't work out. This book shows the ups and downs of life. Unlike some other books, it doesn't necessarily have a happy ending. It is a story of melancholy and somber but it shows that for some people, life is always unfair.
